First Benchmark of the Semester
Today we took the first benchmark of the semester on finding the Vertex of a parabola. No homework, just some practice problems and then the benchmark.
I wasn't here today, but the show must go on.
We started class with more CAHSEE practice (#31-60). It was collected afterwards.
There was another assignment with graphing parabolas (#5 page 522 #46, 50-58, 67-74), and then took the 9.3 quiz.
Don't forget, parent signature grade reports are due on Monday, Jan. 31.
We started with more CAHSEE practice problems. A quick review of the parabola notes and then we worked on assignment #4 page 521 #21, 22, 28-35, 65, 66.
And if you missed #3 The Vertex Handout, here it is.
Also, the first parent signature grade report will be due on Jan. 31, 2005. This is a 20-point assignment. The printed date must be after Jan. 25th.
First, homework packet #1 (assignments 1-2) was collected, then we continued with CAHSEE review (questions 11-20). Then we took some more notes of the vertex of a parabola. The homework was #3, a group handout.
We started reviewing for the CAHSEE (High school exit exam). We worked through the first 10 problems. We will be doing this as a warm-up for the next few days.
After that, we started 9.3 Graphing Quadratics. Not too many notes, and no homework.
However, the first homework packet (including assignments 1-2) will be due on Friday.
Welcome back! Our first lesson of the semester is a review of some things from the end of the first semester. We started with 9.1, solving equations by square rooting and simplifying square roots. You can view the notes here. The first assignment is #1 page 507 #23-26, 31-34, 39-42, 45-48, 54-57, 69-73.
We continued with 9.2, more simplifying square roots. Another assignment: #2 page 514 #12-48 (multiples of 3). If you are stuck, check out hotmath.com for help.
